What Is Obsessive Compulsive Personality?

Sometimes referred to as Anankastic Personality disorder, this personality disorder is defined by a strong need for control, perfection, and order. People with OCPD tend to be obsessive about lists, rules, and details. They often have very high standards for themselves and others, and they can be excessively devoted to work and productivity. They might struggle with delegating tasks or relaxing, and they may be overly critical of others' performance.

It's important to note that OCPD is not the same as OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). People with OCD struggle with repeated unwanted thoughts (obsessions) that drive them to do irrational behaviors to feel relief (compulsions).

By contrast, people with Obsessive Compulsive Personality may not see an issue with their behavior and jutify their thoughts as reasonable.
